łA Hundred Away˛

August 18, 1999

We couldnąt recall when we didnąt know

A life of a separate race of time.

We doted on days and moments supplied

And continued our indefinite climb.

We came upon joy and anger and sadness,

But the thought that remained was just one:

If you could turn all your tears into rays of sun,

Weąd take a hundred away, each one.

We climbed many hills and hit the plains.

We rested, continued, and tried it again.

A force of that nature cannot be denied,

But itąs not up to us to say when.

Where some people drop, others will stay,

And some souls will never be done.

They turn their tears into rays of light

And take a hundred away, each one.

Take comfort, my friend, thereąs so much to learn.

Our day can be stretched to a year.

A year in a decade, an era of time

Is something that never holds fear.

A long way to go in an era of days,

Keep leading yourself to the sun.

Turn those cold tears into rays of shine

And take a hundred away, each one.
